BOTOX®
BOTOX® Cosmetic is commonly used to reduce or eliminate facial wrinkles caused by repeated contractions of certain muscles. These wrinkles are most noticeable on the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes. They can give a person a tired, sad or angry appearance even when they are not experiencing that emotion. BOTOX® works by relaxing the muscles so that the overlying skin becomes smooth and unwrinkled. Untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, so routine facial expression is not affected. You will simply look younger, fresher and well rested. It is one of our most popular procedures for both men and women. Dr. Bogle is skilled in advanced techniques including the treatment of wrinkles around the mouth, neck lines or banding, a pebbly chin texture, down-turned corners of the mouth, and drooping eyebrows.
Injectable Fillers
> Collagen > Collagen (CosmoDerm®, CosmoPlast®) is a naturally occurring protein found in the second layer of skin (the dermis) which “plumps up” the skin, joints, bones and ligaments. Injections counteract the effects of gravity, sun exposure and years of facial muscle movement by filling out sunken areas and smoothing lines for a rejuvenated look. Results may begin to fade in a few months, depending on the patient’s age, genetic background, skin quality, lifestyle and body site. Because of this, and because injections cannot improve severe wrinkles or deep folds, the procedure is often combined with facial resurfacing or plastic surgery for more a satisfying and longer-lasting outcome.
> Evolence® > Evolence® is a new generation collagen filler which uses a specialized technology to cross-link the collagen fibers into a stable matrix that resists degradation. Unlike previous collagens on the market, results last up to one year. Other advantages are low risks of post-treatment bruising and swelling which is attractive for patients with a busy schedule who desire a durable, natural looking result. The product can be used to plump wrinkles anywhere on the body except for the lips. The Laser and Cosmetic Surgery Center of Houston is proud to be the first clinic in Texas to offer this filler, and Dr. Bogle has been selected as a STAR faculty trainer to train other physicians on product science and expert injection technique.
> Restylane/Perlane® > Restylane® is designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. It is a clear, gel made with hyaluronic acid, a natural sugar that is found throughout your body. It carries little risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth), and the marionette lines (from the angle of your mouth to the chin). With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane remains in your skin for many months. Perlane® is a thicker form of Restylane® designed for use in deeper folds and for larger volume filling. Depending on the area of injection, it may have a longer duration of effect.
> JuvedermTM > JuvedermTM Ultra is a smooth-consistency hyaluronic acid filler used to soften wrinkles and folds. The product is similar to Restylane except that it has a greater amount of cross-linking between the hyaluronic acid particles. This increases the softness of the product, making it particularly suited for those with extremely fine lines or those prone to lumping with other fillers. JuvedermTM Ultra Plus is the thicker version of Juvederm used for correction of deeper folds and for areas that need larger amounts of filler such as the cheeks or marionette lines from the angle of the mouth to the chin. Depending on the area of injection, it may have a longer duration of effect.
> Radiesse® > Radiesse® is a mineral based filler composed of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in a cellulose gel. When injected into the skin, the cellulose gel carrier is absorbed after several months, leaving behind a scaffold of mineral microspheres to stimulate new collagen formation. Because the product stimulates your body’s own natural collagen production, results can last up to two years. Some patients may require one or more touch up sessions to maintain best results. The product is best used in large volume areas such as the cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, or backs of the hands. It is not appropriate for use in the lips.
> Sculptra® > Sculptra® is an injectable product that restores and corrects the signs of facial fat loss by replacing volume. It is different from standard fillers in that it stimulates your body to produce its own collagen and increase skin thickness, rather than simply plumping it up with an injected material. For this reason it is best used in large volume areas such as the cheeks, nasolabial folds, or backs of the hands. It is not appropriate for use in the lips. Multiple sessions are required to achieve the best result, and the effects last up to two years.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
Non-surgical rhinoplasty is performed by injecting a filler such as Radiesse® or Restylane® to contour minor irregularities and disproportions. The best candidates for this type of correction are patients with irregularities along the bony ridge such as a small hump, groove or depression, and patients who need volume in certain areas, such as a small nasal tip. The procedure is much less expensive than surgery, is done in the office under local anesthesia, and has essentially immediate results with little to no downtime. Non-surgical rhinoplasty does not replace surgical rhinoplasty for more advanced correction, and not all defects are amenable, but it is an attractive option for patients needing minor tweaks to the appearance of their nose.

Liposuction & Body Contouring
Tumescent liposuction was developed by dermatologists in the late 1980s and has become one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures for both men and women. Tumescent liposuction is performed under local anesthesia in one of our state-of-the-art procedure rooms. We use special small cannulas to ensure an even contour and a natural, pleasing result. The cannula is inserted through a tiny incision, and fat cells are extracted via a suction device. Some women elect to have their fat stored for use in future fat transfer or lipo-augmentation.
Women most commonly treat the upper and lower abdomen, inner and outer thighs, waistline, and hips. Men most commonly treat the abdomen, chin, jawline, and love handles. Dr. Bogle is an expert in advanced liposculpture techniques including breast lipo-reduction in both women and men and abdominal micro-contouring. In your initial consultation we will discuss your desires and expectations and evaluate your health, anatomy, and shape to determine if you are an appropriate candidate.

Fat Transfer
Facial wrinkles and sagging are part of the aging process. We now know that many of these lines are due to volume loss, rather than gravity. This is why patients often have an unnatural appearance after a face-lift where the skin is pulled taut, but volume restoration has not occurred.
While numerous fillers can be used for volume restoration, fat transfer is an attractive option because it offers a natural-looking, safe, permanent solution. Fat transfer is sometimes called autologous fat transplantation or lipo-augmentation. Fat is harvested under local anesthesia from another area of your body through a mini-liposuction procedure, processed, and then reinjected into the treatment area. The entire process takes less than 2 hours. Extra fat is stored in a special freezer for touch up procedures. Because only about 35 percent of fat injected in a single session is permanent, you should plan on 2 to 4 touch up sessions spaced 3 months apart for optimal results.
Fat can be injected into almost any area of the body. It is effective for recontouring the jawline, chin, backs of the hands, cheeks, undereye hollows, smile lines from the nose to the mouth, and marionette lines from the mouth to the chin. Fat can be used for lip augmentation, however results are not permanent in this location due to excessive movement, and most patients prefer to use Restylane®. Fat should never be injected into the breasts because it interferes with cancer detection on mammograms.

Hair Transplantation
Male pattern baldness is an inherited trait affecting approximately 90% of all men, to some degree. For two out of three men, this type of hair loss is significant enough to cause concern. Up to half of all women may also experience similar hair loss. Hair transplantation is performed under local anesthesia by harvesting hair from the back of the scalp, dividing them into groups of 1 to 3 hairs, and inserting the hairs into recipient sites made with a tiny micro-needle. Single hairs are transplanted rather than plugs, so it is virtually impossible to tell them from native hairs. Hair can be transplanted to any area of the body, including the eyebrows or beard. Hair will grow to the length of the donor site, so eyebrows would have to be trimmed weekly.
Dr. Bogle takes an individualized approach to hair transplant surgery to ensure each patient receives a custom outcome and does not advocate the cookie cutter approach utilized by mass transplant centers.

Eyelash and Eyebrow Transplantation
Sparse eyelash or eyebrow hairs can be enhanced through a specialized type of microsurgical hair transplantation using hairs taken from the nape of the neck. The procedure is ideal for individuals who wish to correct defects caused by trauma, burns, or other complications, or for those seeking cosmetic enhancement of otherwise sparse or short lash or brow hairs. The procedure is safe, performed in the office under local anesthesia, and takes only 1 session in most cases. Since the new hairs originated from the scalp, they will grow longer than normal lash or brow hairs and need to be trimmed occasionally.

Eyelid Surgery
Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a procedure to remove excess skin, muscle, and fat from the upper and lower eyelids. It is performed in the office under local anesthesia. In upper eyelid surgery, a fine incision is hidden in the upper eyelid crease, and drooping skin, muscle, and if necessary fat, are removed to restore a more youthful, rested appearance. In lower eyelid surgery, fat is removed and/or repositioned through a small incision just inside the lower eyelid, leaving no visible scar. If there is significant excess lower eyelid skin, a small incision may need to be made along the lower lash line. In some cases, invasive surgery can be avoided with the use of a filler such as Restylane® in the upper cheek and undereye area to camouflage bags or a hollow appearance.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and pre-cancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. Peel formulas and strengths are tailored to each patient. Glycolic acid peels are superficial peels which speed up the renewal process of the epidermis when performed in a series of 4 or more. This makes them a perfect option for those with mild acne, irregular pigmentation, or a dull, mottled complexion. They are done in concentrations of 10 to 70 percent, take approximately 20 to 30 minutes and should be scheduled every four to six weeks. Mild lunchtime or freshening peels can be scheduled with our aesthetics staff.
TCA peels are slightly deeper peels which have the ability to affect the upper dermis. They are useful for the treatment of fine lines, very superficial scarring, irregular pigmentation and certain precancerous conditions (actinic keratoses). Because TCA is stronger than glycolic acid, Dr. Bogle will supervise your treatment course.

Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is an outpatient procedure in which a solution is injected into unsightly veins on the legs to irritate the lining and cause the vein to fade or disappear. Since blood vessels are interconnected, a single injection can sometimes clear an entire patch of spider veins at once. Sclerotherapy remains the treatment of choice to eradicate most superficial leg veins, however very tiny veins may be better treated with lasers.

Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion uses fine crystals to buff away the outermost layer of dead skin cells, resulting in a smoother, fresher complexion. Treatments are relaxing and take very little time, making it a popular procedure for those with a busy lifestyle.
The most common treatment areas are the face, neck, chest, and backs of the hands. Microdermabrasion gives a fantastic glow to the skin and can lighten brown spots, improve textural irregularities, reduce pore size, and brighten dull skin. Makeup will go on easier and smoother and you may find that you need to wear less than before. It is also an ideal choice for patients of any age with clogged pores and blackheads.
